Are you in need of inspiration for your classes, but unable to fly to the UK for your teacher development course? Hilderstone College has just the course for you.
This course is aimed at teachers of the English language for learners of secondary school and adults learners, but materials can also be adapted to younger learners too.
With our Creative Teaching and Culture course you will get two hours of online lessons every afternoon, as well as some work between lessons and overnight.
An integrated part of a Hilderstone College teacher Development course is the opportunity to improve and update your own language. Therefore, we always wish to help you with new ways of describing language as well as creative ways of teaching it.
Our tutors will focus on ways to deal creatively with texts, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and areas such as storytelling, poetry, drama and music. You will be encouraged to try ideas and adapt them to your learners.
You will have the chance to get up to date with current British culture – contemporary language, popular culture, literature, politics, royalty, education, humour, etc. You will be able to work with ideas and materials such as questionnaires, DVD/videos, cartoons, current articles from the media… and you can adapt these for your classroom use.
Through an online platform, the objective of the course is to give participants practice of the language, the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking and ideas and techniques that will improve their teaching when they return to their classrooms.
By the end of the course, participants will have developed their confidence, language and their creative teaching skills.
We use Zoom for our lessons. Click here for a demo.
We recognise that sitting in front of a computer is not always comfortable. As a result our teaching method involves students being online for an hour followed by an hour when the students are offline working on exercises or tasks. The students then return online for another hour of work with classmates and the teacher.
Registration fee: £30
