To help you prepare you will find useful information here to help your planning.

When you travel please, make sure you don't forget your booking confirmation, your travel tickets and your passport!

Your pre-course assessment

If you have not already done it, please complete our pre-course test and questionnaire as quickly as possible to help us understand your level of English.

Do you need a visa?

Studying in the UK for six months or less

EU/EEA and Swiss citizens do not need a visa to study for up to six months.

If you have a passport from a country on the non-visa national list you can study for up to six months without a visa. Please check if you need a visa here and what the rules are.

Please carry with you your enrolment documents from Hilderstone College and details of your return travel arrangements.

Any student from a visa national country who intends to study English language for less than six months will need to apply for a Standard Visitor visa before travel. Click here for a list of visa national countries.

Do not use the e-Gates at the airport, see an immigration officer to get a stamp on your passport.

Studying in the UK for six to eleven months

All students who want to study English in the UK for between six and eleven months should apply for a Short-term study visa at least 3 months prior to travel.

Always refer to the Home Office website.

If you have not already done so, please give us your travel information and how you are arriving to the UK, before the start of your course.

On your first day at Hilderstone College

Please arrive at the College at around 8.45 a.m. on your first day.

We will first check your booking information and identity, so please bring your passport with you.

After that, you will meet the College staff and have a full induction and tour of the College before you start your course.
