Would you like to develop your career but are unable to travel? Hilderstone College has a range of teacher development courses online that may be of interest to you.
Our CLIL course is aimed at teachers of any other subject than English, such as History, Geography, Mathematics, etc.
This course takes place over a total of 10 hours per week: 2 hours of online lessons every day from Monday to Friday, as well as some work set between lessons and overnight.
An integrated part of a Hilderstone College teacher Development course is the opportunity to improve and update your own language. Therefore, we always wish to help you with new ways of describing language as well as creative ways of including it in your subject lessons.
On this course you will focus on classroom language, developing subject-specific language, developing communicative competence, strategies for integrating content and language, working with written, audio and visual text and supporting students in the learning process. Teachers will also be given the opportunity to talk about their own subject and share ideas with their co-participants.
Teachers are encouraged to have their course books with them, so that they can refer to their teaching materials during the lessons.
We are strong believers that often the most valuable aspect of these courses is when participants from around the world share ideas with the rest of the group.
Through an online platform, the objective of the course is to give participants practice of the language, the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking and ideas and techniques that will improve their teaching when they return to their classrooms.
By the end of the course, participants will have developed their confidence, language and their CLIL skills.
We use Zoom for our lessons. Click here for a demo.
We recognise that sitting in front of a computer is not always comfortable. As a result our teaching method involves students being online for an hour followed by an hour when the students are offline working on exercises or tasks. The students then return online for another hour of work with classmates and the teacher.
Registration fee: £30
Tuition fee: £230 per week
