The White Cliffs of Dover, about 40 minutes’ drive from Hilderstone College, are a paradise for keen walkers and nature lovers. The landscape is beautiful but windswept, and the trees lean at an extreme angle! Below you is the busy port of Dover, and you can watch the ferries coming in and out on their way to and from France (just 40 km away!) You can walk for about half-an-hour to the South Foreland lighthouse, or even keep going as far as the pretty seaside town of Deal, about 16 km away. Or, if you still have the energy, you can visit wonderful Dover Castle, which has watched over the coastline for hundreds of years. https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/the-white-cliffs-of-dover#hilderstone
