Blue Flag and Seaside Awards Keep Britain Tidy has today announced the cleanest beaches in Britain for 2022 and Thanet has been awarded 7 International Blue Flags and 3 Seaside Awards – including our main Broadstairs beach, Viking Bay, just 10 minutes’ walk from Hilderstone College.

MORELLI’S ICE CREAM PARLOUR is located on the seafront in Broadstairs overlooking Viking Bay. It was founded in 1932 and is still in the Morelli family today. This parlour is a nostalgic step back in time with its furnishings and décor, juke box and seating booths.
North Foreland Lighthouse, along the coast between Broadstairs and Margate, was built in 1691. It was first lit by fire in 1499! The lighthouse is probably one of the most photographed local landmarks in the Isle of Thanet.
