This week our home town of Broadstairs has been full of the sound of music – it’s the annual Folk Week! This has become a huge event over the past 55 years, and the town welcomes visitors from near and far, with many staying in the local area for the whole duration.
This week has been particularly wonderful because of the fine weather, and that’s great because so many events take place outdoors – the streets and parks are full of musicians and dancers, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved!
The focus is always on the music, though, and throughout the day and evening the local pubs, cafes and hotels host a huge variety of bands and singers, so you can listen to great music for the price of a drink. In addition, there are various larger ‘ticketed’ events for serious folk fans.
It’s a fabulous week!
