Goodbye Summer….
It’s the last week of our summer term, although the weather is so lovely still that you really wouldn’t know it! Here are some of our favourite memories of the season at Hilderstone College, in pictures.

Our Principal, Lee, is quite an action man when he’s not organizing us all at Hilderstone College! Here he is photographed recently on the edge of the glacier, after 1200m of climbing to finish at 2600m, at the Aletsch Half Marathon in Switzerland. Lee also cycles, and sometimes leads our students in cycling or circuit […]
Our local area, known as the Isle of Thanet, is famous for its beautiful sunrises and sunsets; the famous British artist, Turner, is quoted as saying that ‘the skies over Thanet are the loveliest in all Europe.’ Here are some stunning photographic examples, taken by our own Head of Marketing, Lynne Hoenes on her mobile […]
This wonderful photograph was taken by one of our students, George (Jiajin Hou), from China, on a recent excursion to Whitstable. It’s a lovely coastal town famous for its seafood, especially oysters, and its artist studios, and it’s only about 30 minutes away by train or car. Look at that beautiful sky! Thanks, George.
Last night we were entertained by the wonderful dancing of students from the Duncan Centre Conservatory, Prague, who are studying English here again for the 3rd year! Here is a video of their performance, devised by the students themselves in just one day.
Learning English isn’t just about what happens in the classroom. It’s also about using your new language skills to meet people and share experiences, and learn more about our culture and history.
Our student group from Italy, studying with us on a work preparation course, visited several local companies last week, including Discovery Park business centre, Waitrose supermarket and Barnsole Vineyard. The students really enjoyed their visits and were very inspired by what they learned. A huge thank you to Think Big Tech, Dover District Chamber of […]
Hi! I am Chiara. This is my sixth week here and I am having a great experience. With Hilderstone College I have been on some excursions, and I really enjoyed those. Two weeks ago I went to Leeds Castle, a beautiful building with a big and lovely garden. Here there is a wide variety of […]
We are delighted to announce the launch of two brand new Hilderstone College promotional videos (90-second montage and 3-minute video with student interviews and comments). The videos were filmed in Broadstairs this summer with the participation of staff and students. We hope you like them and welcome your comments! See the shorter, ‘montage’ video here. […]
Sandwich is a charming town just 15 kilometres from Broadstairs. We often go here as part of a Friday afternoon visit, or you can easily reach it independently by train. It’s a small town but has some really interesting little shops and cafes, and it’s very pleasant to walk around the narrow streets with quirky […]
